Guildford-based Grays Truck & Van is extending its Iveco franchise into west London with the opening of a new Iveco sales and service dealership in the Heathrow area.

The expansion builds on Grays’ 24 year relationship with Iveco, during which time it has established itself as a major dealer responsible for one of the most densely populated areas of the UK.

It sees Grays Truck & Van take responsibility for the franchise previously operated by Dagenham Motors at Hayes.

Dagenham Motors will now focus its activities on its main Iveco dealership in Barking, supported by a satellite operation in Chelmsford.

Dagenham Motors will offer a full sales and aftersales service throughout its dealer area of reference which covers Essex and the Suffolk borders.

Grays Truck & Van’s new facility in Heathrow represents investment of approximately £2 million.

The new dealership incorporates a 12,000 sq ft workshop assembled in a herringbone formation, incorporating 15 drive-through work bays capable of maintaining in excess of 2,000 vehicles on a six-weekly maintenance cycle.

It also includes hard-standing ground for storing approximately 50 commercial vehicles on-site.

The Heathrow dealership will offer repair and maintenance for all vehicle models from small vans to maximum weight tractor units, along with Class 7 MOTs, brake testing facilities and 24 hour roadside assistance.

Its parts store will also stock around £500,000 of genuine Iveco and all-makes parts.

It will mark the fifth Iveco dealership to be opened by Grays Truck & Van, which includes two separate facilities in Guildford, one in Reading and what is believed to be the largest commercial vehicle workshop inside the M25, in Croydon. Grays Truck & Van are also supported by M&M Commercials in Abingdon, which acts as an authorised Iveco service dealer.

EW Smith in High Wycombe also takes on an Iveco service franchise through Grays Truck & Van, commencing on 26 April 2010.
