Citroen UK has appointed a new managing director to replace Gary Savage.

Linda Jackson, a fluent French speaker, will take up the role on July 1. She is currently finance director of Citroen France, the brand’s biggest market.

Prior to this she was financial controller at Citroen UK and has worked for the company for five years. She also held senior posts at MG Rover, including MD of the French division.

Jackson’s priority will be to maintain the profitability of the network and improve sales and market share. She will also meet the dealer council shortly.

A Citroen spokesman said: “Linda’s appointment is good news for the brand since she knows us and our dealers.”

Savage announced his decision to resign at the beginning of the month. He is now managing director Mercedes-Benz Cars, taking over from Dermot Kelly who is retiring.

Citroen UK continues its search for a replacement for sales director Simon Monahan.
