Luscombe Motors Limited, a new start up business formed by former senior director of Yorkshire-based Colin Appleyard Robin Luscombe, has bought Suzuki Leeds from Robert Bowett for an undisclosed sum.

Robert Bowett has retained the remainder of his business and will continue to represent the Saab and Mitsubishi brand in Leeds.

Luscombe said: "I am extremely pleased that we have managed to complete the deal as the climate certainly isn’t the easiest to start up a new motor business.

“I have a lot of experience with Suzuki and am excited about representing them once again and welcoming all of the Suzuki Leeds staff onboard. It has been a tough ride getting the deal through.

"However, I would like to thank my advisors who did a fantastic job in getting the deal done."

The deal was done through ASE’s Dealermatch.

David Kendrick, ASE transaction manager, said: "Robin is hopefully the first of many individuals who are able to seize an opportunity and set up on their own after being part of a larger group for many years.

“It has been difficult getting through all of the loop holes with regards to funding and securities required by stakeholders these days, however I am pleased we have managed to achieve it."
