Several manufacturers have launched all-inclusive motoring packages which combine the cost of motoring into a single monthly payment in order to bolster sales in the second half of this year.

Honda has introduced a package to cover the cost of running a new car for the first three years. The offers include three years’ servicing, three years’ road tax, plus a range of finance options. Each car then comes with Honda servicing for three years, plus the road tax for the period.

Peugeot has also launched a pay monthly scheme called “Just Add Fuel”. The initiative covers comprehensive motor insurance, road fund licence, vehicle servicing, roadside assistance and warranty in a three-year finance package with a single monthly payment.

David Johnson, Perrys group finance and insurance director, said: “I think this package is going to be popular with customers during the plate change. Customers can take care of all their motoring costs, apart from the fuel, much like a service plan but it covers a lot more.”

Dealers can offer customers a fixed monthly payment spread over a three-year period and, as part of the programme, will be able to change their car for another new car every three years.

All Just Add Fuel customers who order a new car in July will also receive a free Nokia 5230 Smartphone with inbuilt satellite navigation, free future updates and an in-car mounting kit.

Jon Goodman, Peugeot UK managing director said: “Our research showed that customers were looking for a complete peace of mind motoring package that would cover all their motoring costs, including insurance and servicing.”
