Suzuki is set to completely revamp its UK model range over the next three years.

It promises new and updated models including the launch of a new C-segment car and two new SUVs.

Hot on the heels of the next generation Swift will come the Kizashi D-segment saloon and the Swift Sport in January.

Dale Wyatt, director of sales and marketing at Suzuki GB, said: “These two will bring a bit of excitement to the brand and will be our halo models.

"Kizashi is a statement of capability as far as the company is concerned.

“Kizashi means ‘prelude to greater things’ in Japanese and this sums up where we are heading, moving from what is perceived to be a value brand to something more exciting and of greater quality.”

The Kizashi will be introduced in one trim with CVT, all-wheel-drive and a 2.4-litre petrol engine. Its price will be less than £25,000.

Wyatt said: “We have been through a lengthy evaluation process because when we first looked at the car there were lots of reasons not to take it in the UK.

"The car has been a big success in a number of markets and it shows what Suzuki can do. We are only looking to sell around 500 a year and it really will give our dealers a sense of pride.

“The new Swift Sport will have all the excitement of the old model, but is easier to live with. It now has a 6th gear, more power, better fuel economy and lower emissions.”

The other new models, the SUVs and the C-segment car, will widen the product offering for Suzuki.
