Bugle Inn Motor Company has revealed plans to expand its Chorley Nissan dealership in Wigan in a move which could create 30 jobs.

It wants to buy land at the back of its current site to add a used car supermarket, commercial vehicle showroom, electric vehicle centre and extend its current service facilities.

The project would double its current workforce to 60 in Wigan, reports the Wigan Today website.

The dealer group is negotiating with Wigan Council to buy the land, and the scheme is earmarked for completion by spring 2013.

Andrew Turner, managing director, said: "Our goal is to develop a franchise dealership here which will incorporate cars across all makes and models.

"For now we have taken out a lease on a new area of land as we had simply run out of space at Pottery Road. But we are very keen to further expand our operation in Wigan.

"At a cost of more than £1m, this is probably the biggest investment the group has made on any individual site."
