Trefick, the investment company, has confirmed it is one of three parties involved in a joint takeover bid for AM100 dealer group Lookers.

The Isle of Man investment firm, which already has a 17.3% stake in Lookers, teamed up with real estate private equity investment advisors Moor Park and venture capitalist Brett Palos to submit a formal written approach to Lookers' board.

They have asked for access to certain information in order to confirm their cash offer, but said Lookers has as yet decline to provide this.

Lookers revealed last week that its board had received and rejected an offer which it described as "purely speculative".
