Nigel Paling has been announced as the new centre manager at Manheim Auctions, Leeds following Mark Taylor’s appointment to Manheim Auctions, Colchester. 

Paling will be responsible for all vehicle auction activity on the Leeds site including cars, vans, trucks and plant.

Nigel Paling has 17 years experience in used vehicle remarketing and vehicle logistics and was appointed general manager, operations in May 2008.

Paling’s responsibilities included central support for Manheim’s auction centres in logistics, reconditioning, inspections, process improvement, new client implementation and customer services.

Manheim Auctions has also appointed Nick Garbutt as its new centre manager for Saltash following the recent retirement of Derek Bolt.

Garbutt joined Manheim Actions, Bristol in February 2006 as operations manager, becoming assistant auction centre manager in August of that year and has since also undertaken several projects at Manheim Auction centres at Colchester, Gloucester, Leeds and Wimbledon.

Before joining Manheim Garbutt worked for an automotive company in Prague selling 55,000 cars per year. Prior to that he worked for a company making parts for Aston Martin, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover and the Ministry of Defence, and also at Royal Portbury Dock importing and exporting cars.
