Administrators have been called in at Doncaster dealership St Leger after it hit financial troubles.

The business represented Harley Davidson and, until recently, Subaru.

John Russell and Chris White, partners at The P&A Partnership, Sheffield, who were appointed joint administrators, confirmed that the business had ceased trading with 15 immediate redundancies.

Five staff have been retained to help sell its assets.

St Leger was part of Summer Retail, which also had Harley Davidson dealerships in Leeds and Stockport, which are also in administration.

In total 44 jobs have been lost at the group.

Chris White said: “Summer Retail is a well established franchisee of premium goods that has been a casualty of a difficult niche consumer market.”

Chris White added: “These are tough times for any business. I would advise companies that are concerned about their trading to ask for help from an accountant or other professional. The earlier you bring in an expert with an outside view, the better chance of either re-financing or turning around the business."
