Volkswagen adds lorry maker to its group portfolio

Volkswagen has taken a 56% majority stake in MAN, giving it control of the German lorry manufacturer.

The move adds a second company to VW's truck business, on top of Swedish brand Scania.

The group will now seek synergies between Volkswagen, MAN and Scania.

The deal is still subject to approval by competition authorities.
