A major new study will help dealers improve profitability by identifying where finance suppliers could adapt and improve their services.

Dealers throughout the country can identify in detail how their finance suppliers are performing – and most importantly suggest ideas for improvements.

This anonymous feedback from dealers will be used to help finance companies to improve their products and introduce new ideas and initiatives, which in turn will help dealers improve sales and profits. In addition, dealers who take part in the study will receive an email briefing based on the survey results.

Every dealer in the country is being invited to participate in the research and in return one participant will receive the latest Apple iPad2, with the details being announced in September.

The survey is strictly confidential and responses will only be available to researchers, not to any third party.

The results will form the heart of the New Car Finance House Survey, a unique guide to the performance of dealer finance companies in the UK. It has guided their performance since 1995, with an annual report into the market that identified how dealers are being served by finance companies.

It focuses on the quality of the relationships between franchised dealers and the finance companies they utilise when placing new car business for customers. The survey quantifies how satisfied franchised dealers are with these relationships and where finance companies strengths and weaknesses lie.
