Ex-Audi UK boss Jeremy Hicks has been appointed as the new group managing director of Jaguar Land Rover UK.

Hicks had been head of Audi UK for six years, during which the brand's new car volumes have increased significantly and the franchise has become a brand of choice for many premium dealer groups.

Hicks will start the role in November and will oversee both brands as Jaguar looks to compete with German rivals Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz and the expansion of Land Rover's range with the new Evoque crossover SUV. He will also lead the introduction of Jaguar's two-seat, supercharged V6 coupe, the CX-16 which will be in showrooms UK in 2013.
