An independent motor auction house has opened near Cambridge.

The company, Cambridge Car Auctions, is based in Caxton, 15 minutes from the city and is promoting itself as a provider of premium service auctions.

Sales will start on January 31.

Simon Taylor, a director, said: "Unfortunately the association with unroadworthy vehicles and auctions is a reputation which often goes hand in hand. Our auction house is here to buck the trend."

“We pride ourselves on delivering an unparalleled level of customer service and have a detailed knowledge of the automotive industry. We think its only right that our customers should buy a vehicle with the same amount of confidence and trust as if they were buying a brand new car off a forecourt."

All cars sold through its auction have Aviva 7-Day drive-away insurance cover.

Its next step will be to launch an online platform to provide access to its sales across the UK, said Taylor.
