Lexus dealers have opened order books for the flagship LS saloon which is priced between £71,995 and £99.495.

First deliveries will arrive in January and there will be a three model range including LS 460 Luxury, LS 460 F Sport and LS 600h L Premier. The LS 460 petrol model has been reintroduced to the range following requests from customers.

The full hybrid LS 600h is available in a single trim level, the long-wheelbase L Premier model and features a 5.0 litre V8 engine and delivers 439bhp.

The model features some unorthodox technical features like a “climate concierge” system which uses infra-red sensors to monitor the facial temperature of each occupant of the car. Using this information it then adjusts the four zone climate control, seat heaters/coolers and the heated steering wheel to create the best ambient temperature.

Rear seats are electrically adjustable with footrests. Standard equipment safety features include Advanced Pre-Crash Safety system with collision avoidance assist, Lane-Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitor system.

The LS 460 is available in two trims, Luxury and F Sport and is powered by a 382bhp (285kW) 4.6-litre V8 Dual VVT-i petrol engine.

The Luxury is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic bi-xenon headlamps, and LED daytime running lights.Cabin features include leather upholstery, four zone climate control featuring nano technology, and air conditioned electrically adjustable front seats (16-way for driver and 14-way for front passengers). The interior is lit by what Lexus calls a Dynamic Illumination System with soft white interior lamps and instrument panel lighting that moves and changes in intensity in line with vehicle start-up and switch-off.

A 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with DVD player, DAB tuner, Bluetooth and USB/Aux ports is also included. Satellite Navigation and on-board entertainment information is presented on a 12.3-inch central display.

The LS 460 F Sport builds on the Luxury specification with 19-inch F Sport alloys, Brembo brakes, a lateral damping system, a Torsen limited slip differential, and suspension modifications.

The exterior look of the car adds F Sport design elements, including a more aggressive front spindle grille and sports styled bumpers. The interior has a sportier look too, with a dark cabin finish, perforated leather seats and steering wheel; Lexus scuff plates, aluminium pedals, and an aluminium effect finish on the dashboard.

Customers can add an optional night vision camera system for £1,515. Metallic or mica paint is also optional across all models in the LS range.

There are eight exterior colours available: Arctic Pearl, Sonic Silver, Celestial Black, Mesa Red, Mercury Grey, Atlantic Blue and Obsidian Black.

The F Sport model has a range of seven exterior colours, including F Sport White.

In the cabin Luxury and Premier models can be specified with black, light grey, ivory, topaz brown or white upholstery. F Sport models have Sport Black upholstery as standard, but can be specified with Sport White. F Sport models feature aluminium dashboard inserts as standard, regardless of interior upholstery.
