Ford dealers have delivered over 1,000 B-Max models within six weeks of the new car being on sale.

There have been over 2,500 orders with 63% going to retail customers, 22% to Motability customers and the remainder to fleets.

Ford has operated in the B-MPV segment before with its unpopular Fusion model. Based on the Ford Fiesta that ran from 2002-2008 it offered a little more space and practicality, but looked dull and its interior had a budget-car feel.

That car will be consigned to history by the new B-Max, which combines quality, innovation and practicality.

Anthony Ireson, Ford Britain marketing director, said: “We ran a Ford B-Max promotional campaign offering the chance to win unusual prizes that would not normally be available to the general public.

“Over 70,000 of those participating clicked through to an online Ford B-Max configurator so we knew there was strong appeal from the start, but even so we were amazed by the true level of interest – especially since most customers placed orders before they had even been to a showroom.”

The Ford B-Max is on-sale now, priced from £12,995.
