RBS head of digital marketing Jim Murray-Jones has been appointed by News International Commercial as general manager of driving.co.uk, the new classified advertising site for cars.

Murray-Jones will take up the new role in February. He is tasked with developing the website's experience for consumers, car manufacturers and car dealerships. Murray-Jones will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business including co-ordinating sales, editorial, technology and marketing. He will also oversee head of sales Steve O’Meara and sales director Ian Webber.

Prior to joining RBS in July 2010 Murray-Jones held a number of roles in publishing including CEO at TNT Publishing, digital publishing director at Haymarket where he helped oversee the acquisition of Pistonhead.co.uk, and digital publishing director at Auto Trader.
