Smart, the city car sister brand of Mercedes-Benz, will launch a new electric vehicle in 2014.

The Escooter, first shown at 2010's Paris Motor Show, will expand the brand's range for urban mobility.

It will be the brand's third EV, coming after this summer's launch of the ForTwo electric drive car and the Smart Ebike.

“Anyone who thinks of urban mobility has to think of smart,” said Dr. Annette Winkler, the head of Smart. “We offer the perfect zero-emissions vehicle for every requirement, and with our products, electric travel is a lot of fun too.”
