The RMI’s National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA), the trade body representing auction companies has launched its new Code of Practice.
The RMI said the Code of Practice sets out the standards and provisions to which NAMA expects all its members to adhere in offering and providing their services.
Andrew Hulme, NAMA chairman, said: “NAMA members accept the code in its entirety as part of the conditions of membership of NAMA. This ensures that all auction customers receive the highest possible service when using a NAMA member.
“As well as adhering to the principles of the code all NAMA members abide by a Customer Charter. Under the Customer Charter NAMA members pledge to promote ‘best practice’ in the industry and to be fair to both seller and purchaser.
“The new Code adheres to all current standards and guidelines as well as meeting new commercial laws set in the UK.”
