Jardine Motors Group has acquired one Toyota and one Lexus dealership together with a separate aftersales centre in Cambridge from Turner Motor Group for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition will add £17 million to Jardine's group turnover.

The Toyota dealership will trade as Lancaster Toyota and the Lexus dealership as Lexus Cambridge.

Alun Jones, Jardine chief executive, said: “Together with the Toyota and Lexus dealerships acquired last year in Ipswich and Colchester and those acquired earlier this year in Chelmsford, Rayleigh and Romford, these acquisitions now give us a significant market presence in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex for the Toyota and Lexus brand and further strengthens our relationship with the manufacturer.”

Jardine Motors Group also operates Toyota dealerships in Sunderland and Durham and Lexus in Newcastle.

Turner is a family owned business which was founded in 1965. It still holds the Hyundai franchise at sites in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. It also holds the authorised reparirer franchise for Toyota in Bury St Edmunds.
