Subaru UK says it has lined up some ‘super competitive deals and customer incentives’ to coincide with the introduction of the new 62 plate this September.

Notable offers include two years’ interest-free credit on many all-wheel drive models, ‘ultra-competitive finance offers’, 24-hour test drives for both the Legacy and Outback, and a new price of £19,995 for the entry-level Legacy ES Nav – a sizeable £3,000 off the list price.

All-wheel drive and Boxer engine technology for under £20k deserves to attract attention, and the standard spec also includes touch screen sat nav, CD/DVD, integrated Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and steering wheel mounted controls.

The horizontally opposed 150 PS 2.0 litre petrol engine is available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or optional Lineartronic CVT transmission, for the same price as the manual.

All this is in addition to Subaru’s extensive Everything Taken Care of (ETCo) aftercare package and a three-year/60,000-mile warranty.

The latest offer from Subaru supports the view from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) that manufacturer offers are creating competitive consumer offers which is driving private sales, rather than an increase in pre-registration activity.

Industry opinion on pre-registration and a true picture of consumer demand can be found in an analysis piece in today's issue of AM from page 31. Franchised dealers can subscribe to receive AM for free.
