Experian, the global information services company, has launched the latest version of AutoCheck, its automotive provenance check tool, after collaborating with dealers over the changes for the last seven months.

The service, which is used by 68 of the UK’s 100 largest dealer groups and three quarters of the country’s automotive auction houses, now includes new search history function to identify previously checked vehicles and view them for audit purposes, a new batch process to allow users to perform multiple checks, through to improved ease of use and the ability to access AutoCheck from tablets and smartphones.

Alistair Scullion, Experian Automotive in the UK and Ireland, said: “The current trading environment exposes car buyers and dealers to a greater degree of risk.

“Experian’s analysis has shown that increasing numbers of vehicles with outstanding finance are entering the market, combined with the ever present danger of written off and stolen vehicles.

"We have invested a huge amount of time consulting with our customers to ensure that our new version of AutoCheck meets their exacting requirements, provides high quality data and integrates seamlessly with their existing processes.”
