Plans for a two storey Hyundai dealership in Grimsby have been given the go-ahead.

Read Hyundai, which currently has showrooms in Railway Street, Grimsby, will build a new two-storey showroom for eight cars and workshop and a single-storey car wash and valeting service at Altyre Way, Humberston.

The site lies on the eastern side of Altyre Way with a Vauxhall dealership to the north.

In a report to councillors, planning officer Richard Limmer said: "The existing car showrooms have created a car sales hub on Altyre Way offering customers a wide choice of vehicles and the ability to comparison shop within a small area."

Owner Mike Read told the Grimsby Telegraph he hopes to have the new dealership opened by July 2014.

The company is currently out to tender with the contract to build the dealership.
