Motoring presenter plans for chain of dealerships

Mike Brewer

A TV motoring presenter has launched a business selling used cars.

Mike Brewer, who sold cars before becoming a presenter on TV programmes such as Driven and Pulling Power on Channel 4 and Wheeler Dealers on the Discovery Channel, has opened a dealership in Sheffield.

Its home is the former Gordon Lamb Toyota showroom in Bramall Lane, which closed last August.

Branded Mike Brewer Motors, and staffed by a small team of salespeople, technicians and support staff, the dealership at Bramall Lane is hoped to be a success that leads to a roll out of the brand to several other UK locations.

Its launch came shortly after another celebrity, ex F1 winner Nigel Mansell, opened a dealership.

Let's hope he makes more profit than he does from the cars on Wheeler Dealers!

Wheeler dealers is entertainment not a guide to selling cars. Still all he needs to do is employ Dominic Littlewood and he is sure to succeed!

I am so looking forward to this. 'We bought a 2009 Ford Focus for £7000. We've put £500 of parts on it, and Ed's fitted them all for free, AND got his mate to do the paintwork at the same time. After advetising it in the Autotrader for 6 weeks at £9 per week, we've just sold it for £7700 with a 2 year warranty. That's £200 profit!! Good luck in the real world.

He's a busy boy, also launching a new book "Wheeler Dealer Know How" on May 1st by Veloce - and signing copies at Waterstones, Broad St Oxford on Sat 15 June 2013, at 1.00pm, where people are welcome to pop in and get some advice
