Hyundai unveiled its all-new Hyundai i20 at the Paris Motor Show 2014.

Designed, developed and built in Europe, Hyundai is aiming for a more premium-quality package with the new generation i20.

Its engine line-up is to include a new downsized 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, from 2015.

Developed at Hyundai’s European Technical Centre in Russelsheim, Germany, the new Kappa 1.0-litre, 167bhp, T-GDI is the first of a new generation of small turbocharged petrol engines.

Senior vice president and COO at Hyundai Motor Europe, Allan Rushforth, said: "The i20 is a truly European car and we are proud to present it here in Paris. With our new 1.0-litre engine we follow the trend of small turbocharged engines, which provide great driving performance while being very efficient.

“The new engine underlines Hyundai's commitment to sustainable mobility in Europe and gives an insight into future drivetrain innovations from Hyundai."
