Chris Benham (pictured) has been put in charge of manufacturer and major dealer group relationships at The Warranty Group.

With the title of business development director, his task is to look at how to help these organisations maximise both customer retention and income.

He said: “With the growing involvement of the FCA in the motor sector, there is a general rethink in progress about the best way to approach service plan and warranty programmes.

“While we and our partners have always sold these value-added products in a highly ethical manner, there is a renewed impetus to place the customer at the heart of the whole process.

“By delivering the right service plan and warranty programmes, we believe that we can help manufacturers and major dealer groups to retain many more customers and maintain good levels of profitability.

“The Warranty Group has successfully negotiated changing market and regulatory conditions in half a century of operations. Meeting these challenges is something that we do extremely well.”

Benham has worked for The Warranty Group since 2005 in a number of key roles including being national account manager for Vauxhall’s Network Q used car programme.
