Land Rover has revealed the first pictures of its Vision Concept which hints at what the next generation Land Rover Discovery will look like.

The new concept will be on display at the New York Motor Show this weekend.

The Vision concept previews what will become a family of Land Rovers, not just the new Discovery. The Vision concept is a combination of the seven-seat and the smaller five-seat version of the next Discovery, according to Land Rover design director, Gerry McGovern.

The concept features a seating configuration with larger third row seats in comparison to the second row. The seats can be folded or dropped into the floor with a dash-mounted touchscreen button.

The first production version of the new Discovery will be a five-seat version which will replace the Freelander. This model will be based on the Range Rover Evoque platform. There will also be a seven-seat Discovery which will be a rugged off-roader and then a direct replacement for the Discovery which will be more luxury focussed.
