AM Online revamps website says it is seeing the impact of a change in consumer behaviour in user statistics to its website, relaunched in March.

Page views are up by 16% and time spent on the site up by 21% to 3.5 minutes.

The addition of ‘contact me about this offer’ and ‘quote request’ functions in the new design sees enquiries sent directly to the customer's local franchised dealer.

In January 2014 approxiamately 10% of people searching for a new car visited to assist in their new car search.

IT director Nick Philips said: "The general public are becoming more and more savvy in using the internet to gather information on large purchases such as new cars. 

"85% of buyers use the internet as their primary source of information and the average person spends 10 hours online researching their new car purchase before visiting just 1 or 2 dealerships before purchase. 

" can help users to dramatically reduce this research time with all offer types covered in an easy to use comparison engine.  We offer everything that is needed to make a decision including full vehicle specifications and images giving a rich user experience and a ‘one stop shop’ for new car research.

"With 298 models listed on the website and thousands of derivatives, the website is a powerful tool offering users the information they crave and putting them in the driving seat."

The website also offers users the ability to order brochures and book test drives with the addition of other contact methods not offered on manufacturer websites such as ‘contact me’ and ‘order a quote’.
