Seven in 10 retail new car sales is achieved through finance and the consumer is increasingly thinking of a monthly budget. Thanks to suppliers such as Codeweavers and iVendi, dealers and carmakers can present a big ticket item as a more affordable prospect for the consumer. James Tew, director of Ivendi, said digital marketing needs to reflect the way consumers choose cars today, through monthly payment finance offers.
“Dealers should be advocating ‘pre-point of sale’ finance and get their finance proposition on the web. It’s about making it understood that a finance product is available and having some indication of the price. If the finance proposition is not brought to the front of the sales process the consumer will seek their finance elsewhere.”
