Arthurs Vauxhall, with dealerships in Oswestry and Newtown, has expanded by buying the Dickens Peugeot dealership in Wrexham.

The new dealership will trade as Arthurs of Wrexham and allows the company to extend it’s geographical coverage and franchise base.

Nigel Williams, Arthurs' managing director, said: "We have had a few successful years and when this opportunity arose, we had discussions with Peugeot and found them to be most supportive and we are confident this will be a good fit with our existing business.

"Our existing Vauxhall business is synonymous with customer satisfaction, being no 1 in the UK in the Vauxhall Purchase Satisfaction rankings in November 2014, and we intend to offer the same level of service to Peugeot customers in the Wrexham area in 2015 and beyond."

Williams said he was convinced from speaking to the Peugeot management team that the company is on the up after a few poor years. "The model range is very exciting and the product quality is much improved, so we believe this is a great time to become part of the Peugeot franchise," he added.

Williams has transferred a new dealer principal, David Goldthorpe, from Arthurs of Oswestry into the new business. Goldthorpe said: "I believe we have a tremendous opportunity to grow Peugeot’s market share in Wrexham, and we have been impressed by the enthusiasm and motivation of the employees who have transferred with the business and we look forward to the future."
