Vauxhall has revealed the all-new Adam Grand Slam, which will arrive in showrooms in March.

The model features a 148bhp 1.4-litre turbo Ecotec engine, which has a top speed of 124mph and a 0-62 of 8.5 seconds.

A short-throw gear change mated to a six-speed transmission allows drivers to fully exploit the performance.

The Grand Slam has been introduced as the performance Adam to take on competition in the Fiat Abarth.

Exterior changes include a wider track giving the model a much more sporty appearance.

A total of ten body colours and a further four roof combinations are available, with the Red 'n‘ Roll roof design reserved exclusively for Grand Slam customers.

Standard equipment includes red painted callipers, VXR styling pack, rear mounted roof spoiler, rear lower spoiler extended with cut out and visible chrome exhaust, roof colour pack (optional, red coloured roof unique to Grand Slam), ESP switch off button, aluminium sports pedals, dark-tinted rear windows, CD player with USB facility and aux-in socket, digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel mounted audio controls, leather-covered steering wheel, black cloth/Morrocana seats, cruise control and trip computer and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Vauxhall’s chairman and managing director Tim Tozer said: “The Adam Grand Slam has been designed for people who want to enjoy a sporty driving experience in a car with a unique and individual look.

“I’m sure the latest addition to the Adam range will be just as successful as its stylish stablemates.”

The Adam Grand Slam is priced from £16,995.
