In a company first, Hatfields Group has appointed a remarketing partner, Aston Barclay.

The family owned business which owns five Jaguar, four Land Rover and one Volvo dealership based in the north of England will be selling 3,000 part exchanges annually through Aston Barclay Prees Heath in a dedicated slot during its Thursday evening sale.

Hatfields Group’s used car manager Paul Turner said: “We are experiencing some excellent sales growth with all three brands that we represent and it was time to modernise our remarketing strategy to accommodate the increased number of part exchanges we have been taking in,”

“Already the switch to physical auction has speeded up the sale of our part exchanges and we have freed up space that would normally be taken up by cars ready for collection by used car traders.

“We met with all the key remarketing suppliers in the market and felt that Aston Barclay’s independent status and strong customer service ethics fitted in well with our family business values. We felt that Aston Barclay offered a different experience."

Prees Heath’s general manager Ismael Aumeerally and his team, new group buyer services manager Zoe Sutton and group national sales manager Rob Wittridge all combined to get Hatfields off to a flying start with a near 100% conversion rate selling 49 out of 53 cars.

Aston Barclay’s group national sales manager Rob Wittridge said: “Hatfields Group is one of the best performing and most highly respected Jaguar and Land Rover dealers in the north of England so we are pleased to have been appointed as their remarketing partner.

“They are providing Prees with a good mix of used cars which has helped attract some new buyers to our Thursday night sale and we have already had some great results.”
