Steven Eagell Group has completed the acquisition of nine Toyota and three Lexus dealerships from Marshall Motor Group for an undisclosed sum.

This brings the total number of sites now operated by the Milton Keynes-based, privately-owned, company to 44 (32 Toyota and 12 Lexus).

Steven Eagell, chief executive, said: “These acquisitions are a great fit for us geographically and have a track record of delivering good all-round performance.

“A core strength of the new businesses is the existing management team and we look forward to working with them to further develop best practice across the group.”

AM first reported in April that the car dealer group, which exclusively represents Toyota and Lexus franchises, was expected to buy the businesses from Marshall.

Eagell said the group’s initial priority is the integration of the new locations into the wider business “with minimal disruption”.

The new acquisitions are:

  • Toyota Ashford
  • Toyota Bromsgrove
  • Toyota Canterbury
  • Toyota Gatwick
  • Toyota Hereford
  • Toyota Horsham
  • Toyota Stourbridge
  • Toyota Tunbridge Wells
  • Toyota Worcester
  • Lexus Canterbury
  • Lexus Gatwick
  • Lexus Tunbridge Wells

Steven Eagell's latest acquisition follows on from it purchasing Inchcape Toyota Oxford in August last year.

Marshall’s disposal of its Toyota businesses is the second new car franchise it has exited since its summer 2022 acquisition by BCA, cinch and WeBuyAnyCar owner Constellation Automotive.

In October last year, Marshall completed its exit from the Kia franchise through the sale of its two dealership sites to Drayton Motors and Donalds Group.

AM asked Constellation for information on its exit from Toyota and Lexus, as well the sale to Steven Eagell but the business refused to comment.
