Ford's UK dealers look set to join the network of service and repair providers provided on comparison site WhoCanFixMyCar.com.

The move, agreed with Ford of Britain, could see more then 500 dealers added to the comsumer website.

WhoCanFixMyCar.com, the comparison site for drivers looking to find a great local garage or dealership, says that almost 9,000 jobs are set to be posted this April - nearly seven times more leads than in February last year.

Alistair Preston, co-founder at WhoCanFixMyCar.com, said: “While our lead volumes have grown seven-fold, our garage numbers haven’t kept pace, leaving work on the table in certain parts of the country. It’s not a good experience for our users, but clearly it’s a great opportunity for garages of the appropriate scale and quality. With so many Ford vehicles on the road today, it’s a natural fit for us.”

“The main dealer servicing and repair proposition is very competitive with the independent or fast-fit alternative as reflected in our data.

"However, some drivers typically assume that a main dealer service will cost them more.

"Our system allows local prices - from all outlet types - to be compared side-by-side, along with each party’s USPs - levelling the playing field somewhat. Drivers make their decision based on what matters most to them, whether that’s reputation, price, availability or location.”

Jon Wellsman, director, Ford customer service division, said: “Digitally savvy motorists are increasingly turning to comparison websites for the best deals on vehicle servicing and repairs.

“By joining WhoCanFixMyCar.com Ford owners can see the competitive offer of our Motorcraft 4+ programme across the UK, together with the assurance of service quality they expect from a Ford dealer, including a warranty on parts and labour, complimentary Roadside Assistance, vehicle washing and collection and delivery.”

WhoCanFixMyCar.com provides motorists with a way to find a local garage or mechanic. Site visitors enter their vehicle details, postcode and requirements, and nearby garages provide a job quote and any additional information required. Motorists book in with their chosen garage based on location, price and feedback provided by the garage’s previous customers.
