Vertu Motors has invested £375,000 to create a new Parts Plus aftermarket business for its Bristol Street Motors operation in Croydon.

The AM100 car retail group expanded its Ford PartsPlus operation, which will also sell Motorcraft and Omnicraft parts for all vehicles, has now opened its doors at a site beneath the landmark Ikea retail site on Purley Way, Croydon.

The opening takes Vertu’s network of PartsPlus sites to four locations, each serving trade parts to franchise groups, independent repairers and body shops.

Vertu Motors and Bristol Street Motors chief executive Robert Forrester said: “Croydon is an exciting and vibrant borough and so we are delighted to open this PartsPlus centre in the heart of south London.

“It is Bristol Street Motors’ first representation in this area and a great addition to our very successful PartsPlus division.”

Jon Rush, general manager at PartsPlus Croydon, said: “It has been a long journey to get to the opening of PartsPlus Croydon, but I believe we have the very best facility here for customers and colleagues.

“I am certain we will grow and flourish in Croydon, becoming a key part of Bristol Street Motors’ PartsPlus network.”

Ford launched its PartsPlus operation in April 2018, planning 84 centres across the UK.

Its own car retail operation, TrustFord, was central to the roll-out of the operation which now boasts 62 locations.

Bristol Street Motors’ new PartsPlus operation in Croydon will open from 7am and offers a click and collect service, along with a traditional trade and retail counter.
