MG Motor UK’s new head of sales and marketing Daniel Gregorious has targeted a position as “an industry leader in the affordable car category” for the Chinese-owned brand.

Following on from a record set of results in his first quarter at the helm of MG, Gregorious recognised the hard work and commitment of a dealer network, which generated 1,100 registrations in March – confirming a 49% increase on the same month last year.

Year-to-date, MG is the fastest-growing car brand in the UK, with sales increasing by 67% versus the same period in 2017.

MG is partly attributing this success to its new warranty programme. Since the start of the year, all new MGs are backed by a manufacturer’s warranty of at least five years, led by the all-new MG ZS Compact-SUV, which has a 7-year/80,000 miles warranty.

Gregorious, who took up the post of head of sales and marketing at the start of February – taking over from Matthew Cheyne, who left the brand last year – said: “We are only just beginning to see the potential of MG Motor UK under SAIC ownership.

“We have access to a huge range of technology and development that adds strength to the MG brand.

“We are confident that in the next two years MG will become an industry leader in the affordable car category.”

Gregorious joined MG after over 20 years in the automotive industry in various sales, planning and marketing roles at Renault, Chevrolet, Kia and the PSA Group.

His appointment follows a half-a-million pound investment in Longbridge and a new office and showroom in London.
