A show organised by the Bishop Aukland Town Team is planned to put new cars under shoppers’ noses this weekend.

The town in the North East of England is hosting its fourth annual New Car Show at its historic Market Place, with displays from Mill Volvo, Evans Halshaw, Sherwoods and SG Petch, all of Darlington, Vertu Honda of Durham and Croxdale Citreon Centre, showing off the very latest models.

In addition there will be a selection of vehicles from the Jaguar Drivers’ Club for enthusiasts to enjoy.

Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Lee Brownson, said: “We are expecting around 30 new cars to be on show in the Market Place and in front of the town hall for people to come along and have a look at.

“It’s a great way for the dealers to show-off their latest models to people who might not have thought about getting a new car. I know in the past the event has generated quite a few sales for the garages.

“It’s also a good way to increase footfall in the town and bring something different to the Market Place.
