Wessex Garages will open its new high-tech flagship Nissan workshop in Bristol at the end of December.

The dealer group has invested £300,000 in the new facility at Hayes Way at Cribbs Causeway and the new centre will have eight technicians, including two Master Technicians and two apprentices.

The workshop has ‘in ground’ Stenhoj lifts, that rise out of the floor, rather than the the traditional two post lifts. Customers can look into the workshop area from the customer lounge.

Wessex Garages’ total investment in the new Nissan showroom totals £5 million. It will also be a centre for electric vehicles with three charge points.

Keith Brock, managing director of Wessex Garages, said: “The workshop at the site will represent a flagship venture for us and will see a move away from a traditional garage look to a bright, light, modern and spotlessly clean environment, with all the very latest hi-tech equipment available to offer our customers the very best for their vehicles.

"In fact it’ll be more like a sci-fi operating theatre than a traditional motor workshop.”

Brock said there are few Nissan workshops of this standard in the country. He said: "We’re very much ahead of the game and are pretty unique as the workshop specification is to prestige brand standards.”

Wessex Garages has outlets in Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester and Newport, representing Nissan, Kia, Renault and Dacia, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Hyundai and Kia.
