JCT600 is carrying out a £1 million redevelopment of its Volkswagen dealership in Saxon Way, Hull.

Work has started on site and is expected to be completed by mid-April.

JCT600 is relocating its Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles operation to a nearby location in order to create a larger showroom, dedicated to Volkswagen cars.

The 11 car showroom is undergoing a complete refurbishment and will be expanded to 400sq-m, almost doubling its size.

The interior will incorporate Volkswagen’s latest retail concept which includes creating a desk-free showroom which instead features ‘comfort zones’, café areas with leather sofas, interactive screens, a business lounge and a customer quiet zone.

There will also be a popular kids’ zone with gaming console and iPad.

JCT600 will also be upgrading the dealership’s workshop.

Volkswagen Hull is continuing to operate as usual from temporary accommodation, situated in the car park.

“Volkswagen’s retail concept has been designed around enhancing the customer experience which fits perfectly with our own ethos of ensuring that our customers enjoy their browsing and buying process with us, providing excellent staff who can help them in a relaxed and comfortable environment,” said Mark Taylor, group property director of JCT600.

“Volkswagen Hull’s modern design will give the showroom a fresh, updated look and create more space for customers and their families to appreciate the whole experience of visiting one of our dealerships.

“Volkswagen is at the forefront of blended retailing, known as ‘bricks with clicks’, which embraces the latest digital technology and incorporates it within its dealerships while also appreciating the continuing importance of face-to-face contact.

“For example, a fixed iPad will be positioned at every car for browsing the vehicle specification enabling the sales team to demonstrate the options available to customers and technical safety features in an engaging way.”
