TV and radio producer John Lloyd has been announced as the after dinner speaker at the prestigious AM100 Dinner.
Taking place on June 16 at the Park Plaza Riverbank London hotel, not far from the Southbank, the AM100 Dinner, the annual industry guide to the 100 largest dealer groups in the country, is the networking event of the year.
Around 350 of the industry’s top professionals attend every year where the facts and figures surrounding the performance of the AM100 are released ahead of publication in AM.
Delving deep into the analysis, the report highlights a range of information including average profit of the biggest profit producers and average profit by outlet and employee providing an invaluable indicator of industry performance as well as an essential benchmark for all dealer groups. The report also takes a closer look at the issues facing the industry.
The evening will be topped by John Lloyd (pictured).
The producer behind Spitting Image, QI, Blackadder and The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy steps out of the shadows with a barnstorming one-man show.
After dinner the ‘Professor of Ignorance’ draws from his Meaning Of Liff, and explains why complaints to the BBC can sometimes be a "jolly good thing".
AM editor-in-chief Stephen Briers said: “The AM100 provides a fascinating insight into the performance of our industry and we know the sector’s key personnel are always keen to take a close look at the figures to compare the performance of their own group or dealership.
"As unique research, it also acts as a barometer for the sector as a whole and the last few years have been particularly encouraging.
"With an election pending, although the outcome by then will be known and effects possibly already felt, we are already experiencing higher than average interest in the event and our forthcoming analysis."
“On a lighter note, the event is always one of our most well attended because it provides an opportunity for people in the industry to meet up, chat and socialise in a very informal atmosphere and I am very much looking forward to once again welcoming all our guests.”
Last year’s figures from the AM100 included:
£42.5m – the average profit before tax of the 10 biggest profit earners, which was up on 2014’s figure of £32.4m
£627,513 – the average profit per outlet, a 15% year-on-year increase in performance per franchised outlet
£13,834 – the top 20 groups’ average profit per employee, 10% higher than 2014
