Lancaster celebrates success of pop-up shop

Lancaster Mercedes-Benz has proved to be top of the shops when it secured its first sales just 30 minutes after opening its ‘pop-up’ store at Lakeside Shopping Centre.

Designed to showcase the Mercedes-Benz and smart range in an innovative new way, the pop-up store features an array of new products including the new C-Class Coupé, A-Class and smart cabrio and boasts a real-life Mercedes-AMG F1 car.

Lancaster, part of the Jardine Group, opened the facility at the Essex shopping destination to complement its existing showrooms in nearby West Thurrock, Chelmsford, Colchester, Southend and Ipswich.

And it delivered immediate results, Lancaster Mercedes-Benz staff making their first sale – a stylish smart forfour prime – within 30 minutes.

The team went on to make a record-breaking more than £1,000-worth of Mercedes-Benz, smart and F1 merchandise sales over the day.

Ify Madueke, sales director for Lancaster Mercedes-Benz and general manager for Mercedes-Benz of Lakeside, said: “Mr Clark came in with his family for a browse but when he saw the smart forfour on display it proved to be love at first sight.

“They only came to the centre for a cup of coffee and ended up buying a new car.”

 Situated on the Ground Floor, opposite House of Fraser, the pop-up outlet showcases a wealth of exclusive F1 and brand merchandise.

Customers can browse and configure their desired vehicle on touchscreen whilst youngsters are entertained with iPad games.

Madueke said: “The reaction from shoppers so far has been incredible and everybody is really enjoying the experience.”

The Lancaster Mercedes-Benz pop-up shop will be open until May 9th.
