Swansway bosses got stuck-in as the first sod was cut at the site of the business’ Crewe Jaguar site.

The new Jaguar centre, set to be open for business next spring, will be situated in front of the Booth Hall MMU student accommodation facing the Crewe Green roundabout, accessed via University Way.

Thirty-five jobs are expected to result from the opening.

Swansway Director, David Smyth, who lives in Crewe, said: “It’s really good news for the area that Jaguar, a premium brand, has chosen to be represented here and from Swansway’s point of view, it’s a coup for our family business to have secured the franchise for such an iconic brand.”

David added: “Swansway Jaguar Crewe, will join our three other dealerships in the town; Crewe Volkswagen, Crewe SEAT and Crewe Audi as well as our Head Office, Accident repair Centre and Group Fleet Operation.

“We employ 250 staff across these sites and the addition of Jaguar will take us to almost 300 staff in Crewe and 900 across all our centres, which is a real milestone for us as a family owned business”.
