Swansway expands with BYD and opens another Motor Match location

Swansway Motor Group has expanded with BYD to add a third location and is also growing its Motor Match used car brand with a new location in Fenton.

The new BYD Stoke dealership has officially opens its doors today (May 19) and is located on Victoria Road, Fenton.

The site had previously been vacant for over 12 months.

Alongside the new BYD showroom, Swansway is also launching its latest used car operation, Motor Match Stoke, at the same location – expanding its independent used car retail brand’s footprint to six sites.

David Smyth, director at Swansway Motor Group, said: “We are delighted to be taking over a commercial property in Stoke which has been vacant for over a year and putting it to good use.

“In addition to our existing Stoke Audi site, this allows us to increase customer choice in the area.

"Our partnership with BYD has started strongly, and the opening of BYD Stoke reflects that momentum. With the addition of Motor Match Stoke, we now have something for everyone in this market."

Swansway’s expansion with BYD comes amid growing demand for EVs in the UK.

The Chinese brand saw more UK registrations in the first quarter of 2025 than in the whole of 2024, supported by the popularity of models like the Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal and the newly launched Sealion 7.

BYD entered the UK market in early 2023 and aims to have a network of 120 UK retail partners by the end of 2025.
