Work has begun on a building of a new JCT600 Porsche Centre in Teesside, which is scheduled to open early next summer.

It will serve the regions of County Durham, North Yorkshire and the North East.

John Tordoff, chief executive of JCT600, says: “For over two years, we have been searching for a site where we can showcase the stunning range of Porsche models and believe this prime location, just outside Stockton and close to the A66, will give customers throughout North Yorkshire and the North East easier access to sales and servicing of Porsche cars.

“The new centre will also have a positive impact on the region bringing such a high quality business to the area and is expected to create 30 new jobs.”

Tom Armstrong, Porsche brand director for JCT600, says “Naturally, work will commence over the coming months on the recruitment of a high calibre, industry leading team that reflects the brand values of such a prestigious marque, and has a natural desire to deliver customer satisfaction of the highest standard.

“We will be holding a number of recruitment days in the area towards the end of 2016 and start of 2017.”

Occupying a 2.6 acre site on Concorde Way near Stockton, Porsche Centre Stockton-on-Tees will complement the existing Porsche Centres in Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield, managed by JCT600.

The redevelopment of the two existing buildings, which is expected to take eight months to complete, will create a 15 car showroom plus capacity for 40 pre-owned vehicles.

Customers will be able to enjoy a variety of new facilities and improved services including:

nine bay workshop

  • MoT bay
  • four wheel alignment bay and ‘driver assist’ calibration bay
  • Porsche Direct Dialogue bay supporting quick, on-the-spot diagnosis
  • Executive lounge area
  • ‘kids zone’ with iPads and gaming pod
  • ‘Smart Energy’ building management system and full LED lighting

The 35,707sq ft new centre will offer the full range of Porsche services including new and pre-owned Porsche Approved car sales, servicing, parts, a service loan fleet and a full range of Porsche demonstrators.

The development adds to the current 36-strong Porsche Centre network in the UK and Ireland.
