Inchcape Retail UK employees have raised more than £70,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support during 2016, the first year the dealer has supported a single charity.

Macmillan became Inchcape UK’s charity partner after it was selected following a staff vote.

The annual target for 2016 was set at £50,000.

Staff from all areas of the business got involved and found any number of different ways to raise money from cake sales, dress-up days, fun run’s, cycle rides and even a comedy night.

Newly appointed Inchcape Retail chief executive James Brearley said: “I’m so impressed by the passion and enthusiasm displayed by our employees in support of Macmillan.

“They had a tremendous year supporting our charity partner and showed how you can have fun while making a huge difference.  Macmillan is an incredibly worthy charity and the work they do is invaluable to people affected by cancer.  We’re so delighted with the staff response that we will be continuing our partnership with Macmillan in 2017.”

This year, Inchcape UK has set its annual fundraising target at £70,000.
