Staff based at Vertu Motors’ Gateshead business development centre have achieved new qualifications which have propelled them to promotions within the business.

Nine colleagues at its Team Valley headquarters received training to develop their customer service and leadership skills.

Sam Green and Charlene Findlay both received promotions to management level roles following completion of the Management Level 3 qualification.

Three other members of the team have also been promoted after completing their training.

Vertu Motors’ chief executive Robert Forrester said: “Recognition and commitment are two of Vertu Motors’ values, and that’s why we are committed to the development of colleagues across the business.

“We are always keen to support our team to develop and this latest cohort have been a credit to our business development centre.

“All nine have worked exceptionally hard to gain these qualifications, completing the courses alongside their roles without letting it affect their performance.

“We had some opportunities in our management team, and I am very proud to that so many colleagues from across the company were able to fill those positions.

“Vertu Motors promotes five key unteachables of talent, energy, drive, character and attitude, so it’s great to see those assets flourish with the right support and guidance.”
