Alex Merricks, Inchcape franchise director Jaguar Land Rover, said: “Tia is our first female technician to achieve level four accreditation for both Inchape and Jaguar Land Rover.

“This is an incredible achievement.

“To have successfully achieved master technician status is a real testament to Tia’s hard work and determination. We are extremely proud to have such a talented technician working in our team.”

Gold technician

At the same time Portsmouth Inchcape Stuart Hobbs has achieved gold Porsche technician status.

He has worked for Inchcape Retail UK for just over two and half years and has successfully achieved the highest-ranking Porsche certification.

To achieve gold certification, Porsche technicians must master every element of diagnostics and repair and complete practical exams under real conditions.

Hobbs achieved his gold technician award in just two years and passed the exams first time.

Tony Gorrighan, Inchcape’s franchise director for VW and Porsche, said: “Porsche Gold Technician certification is rarely achieved first time and is literally like gold dust. To have reached this level in just two years is a real testament to Stuart’s hard work and determination. We are extremely proud to have such talented technician working in our team.”

Inchcape Retail UK was voted the 2016 Best Big Company to Work For in the Sunday Times Top 100.

It is running a nationwide recruitment drive to attract additional vehicle technicians to join its award-winning team.
