Lookers has grown its portfolio of Volvo retail sites with the opening of a new dealership in Stockport.

The launch of the new site on St Mary’s Way, Mersey Street, represents a £4 million investment by the AM100 retailer and brings the total number of nationwide Volvo sites in the Lookers portfolio up to three.

Inspired by Scandinavian design, it features a six-bay modern workshop, while outside there will be space for 50 Volvo Selekt approved used vehicles and customer parking.

As well as providing the area with a brand new state-of-the-art Volvo facility, the new site will also create 20 new jobs.

The team at Lookers Volvo Stockport are already preparing for the launch of a number of exciting new models in 2018, including the all new Volvo XC40 in February.

Lookers’ chief operating officer, Nigel McMinn, said: “It is a reflection of our confidence in the fantastic new range of models that Volvo are producing and their clear position as an authentic Swedish premium brand.

"I would like to thank Jon Wakefield, MD of Volvo UK, for joining us in celebrating the official opening of our fantastic new showroom.

"Lookers is proud to invest into the Volvo brand and we hope all of our customers enjoy our state-of-the-art facility here in Stockport.”

Lookers Volvo Stockport’s general manager, Boyd Dennell, said: “We are very excited to be opening this ultra-modern Lookers Volvo outlet in Stockport.

“It’s the perfect time to be strengthening our relationship with the brand, with a number of fantastic models due for release.

“In addition we also look forward to launching the very exciting replacement for the V60 which is due in the summer. 2018 represents a very exciting year for Lookers and Volvo in the UK”
