MG Motor UK has appointed five new partners to its franchised dealer network, which now stands at 81 sites.

The company, owned by Shanghai-based SAIC Motor, has a goal of establishing a UK network of 120 dealerships by 2020.

Joining the MG network are Crayford & Abbs in north Norfolk, Thomas & Davies in Merthyr Tydfil, McMillan Motors in Greenock, Jermyn & Sons in Seaford, East Sussex, and FG Barnes in Canterbury.

Daniel Gregorious, head of sales and marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome five new dealerships to the MG network. Each of them brings their own unique strengths but they all share a common interest in selling plenty of cars and putting the customer at the heart of everything they do.

"I’m certain that our five new dealers will successfully introduce our value-for-money cars, long warranties and great finance offers to their local communities.

MG continues to be the UK’s fastest growing car manufacturer, according to the SMMT, with sales increasing by 121.6% year-to-date, registering 5,099 cars.

Network expansion is one of MG’s two key strategic pillars for volume growth in the UK, the second being new model launches.

Following the debut of the MG ZS compact SUV earlier this year, the next new model launch will be the new MG3, which goes on sale in September.

MG is continuing its search for new dealer partners to further expand its network.
