LSH Auto UK has said that Greater Manchester and Birmingham will “reap the economic benefits” of its recent investments as it prepares to open two new Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

The group, part of the world’s largest Mercedes-Benz retail group (LSH International), has created 55 new jobs at Mercedes-Benz of Stockport, and 32 new jobs at the site at Mercedes-Benz of Erdington ahead of their official opening later this year.

LSH Auto UK’s managing director, Martyn Webb, said: “Across both our new sites, the safeguarding and creation of jobs is of the upmost importance to us.

The new jobs created will also mean the business is employing a workforce of more than 850 across the two market areas.”

At a previously derelict site off Brighton Road, Stockport, the group's new purpose-built three-story facility will form LSH Auto UK’s Mercedes-Benz hub for the entire Manchester area.  The site is due to open July 2019.

“Due to its sheer scale, and customer offering – in terms of vehicles and world-class facilities - we have chosen to create our hub for the Manchester area in Stockport,” said Webb.

“The location also complements our international business structure, and its proximity to the airport and excellent transport links are ideal.”

The 10.5-acre site will be a showcase for 140 vehicles, it will incorporate a dedicated AMG suite and display 100 approved used Mercedes Benz vehicles in a purpose built indoor showroom.

It will also feature 30 workshop bays, plus dedicated configuration areas, and display areas for the manufacturers’ new electric range.

Mercedes-Benz of Stockport will also boast a brand-new bistro and dedicated event facility– the first Mercedes-Benz showroom in the UK to offer this new hospitality concept, complete with dedicated hospitality manager, welcoming customers for breakfast and lunch as well as offering events space for private events and meetings.

“The Stockport development is very exciting for us, not only does it provide a landmark destination and offer our customers and general public an opportunity to experience Mercedes-Benz and LSH under one unique roof, it puts us as the frontrunner for Europe’s largest Mercedes-Benz showroom,” said Webb.

Mercedes-Benz of Erdington’s 5,000sq-m development on a six-acre site will be an approved used car ‘Centre of Excellence,’ with an impressive bespoke used car preparation centre, LSH said.

Opening in April, the new site, on Bromford Lane, will have a brand-new purpose-built, aftersales facility - a new offering for customers in the area; complete with service and MOT specialists.

The Erdington site will be able to display over 200 vehicles; showcasing 50 models in its showroom and a further 150 vehicles outside. There will also be 12 workshop bays.

Webb said: “Our used-car centre of excellence, in Erdington, is a strategically important site to support our business.

"Here we are creating industry-first facilities, providing a unique offering to our customers with cars of all ages available, and a state-of-the-art aftersales department for continued customer service.”
