Glyn Hopkin has launched a recruitment drive after growth in the South East prompted the car retail group to open applications for “dozens of aftersales posts” – including apprenticeships and full-time technician posts.

The Romford-based AM100 dealer group, which last year celebrated its 25th anniversary, currently employs over 850 staff but is looking to bolster its ranks across its dealership workshops and is placing a particular emphasis on its search for new qualified Vehicle Technicians at NVQ level 2 and 3 standard.

Glyn Hopkin managing director, Fraser Cohen, said: “Glyn Hopkin is a great place to work and the diversity of brands we work with mean that there is never a dull moment in any job role.

“Our very low levels of staff turnover underline our commitment to training and career development.

“Our aftersales departments are among the best in the business, and talented school-leavers and experienced technicians alike will join a very capable and highly motivated team.”

Glyn Hopkin said in a statement that it prides itself on remarkably high levels of staff retention.

As of the end of 2017, 108 members of staff had been with the company for between 10 and 20 years, while a further 36 had been employed for more than 20 years – totalling a combined 1,800-plus years of service, it said.

Six members of staff, including two directors, have been with Glyn Hopkin for 25 years, from the first month it opened.

Successful applicants for the group’s newly-created job roles will benefit from full manufacturer-backed training, including how to maintain and repair electrified vehicles. The group said that it will soon sell its 3,000th electric vehicle.
